Improving the Lives of Our Members
Dependable internet is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity for many individuals.
CVEC Fiber is proud to play a part in improving the quality of life in the communities we serve by providing robust, reliable internet access in our service area. This essential service and reliability allow employees to work remotely, students to learn virtually, and families to complete these tasks simultaneously.
“Hearing how the fiber network has improved the lives of our members is very rewarding,” Sheila Allgood, general manager of broadband, said. “Bringing true high-speed internet to our rural areas is a game-changer, it is transforming rural living for the better and quickly removing the rural-urban broadband divide in our communities.”
Brenda Wilcox, a resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, has been using her hotspot for internet for years. Though the hotspots gave her some internet access, Ms. Wilcox found herself prioritizing her internet usage. Brenda’s life has significantly improved since the delivery of fiber internet to her home and she no longer has to plan her online tasks based on when she has good internet access; instead, she can work on her tasks in her own timeframe knowing reliable internet is constant.
“I no longer have to think about my internet connection, that is the best thing. It’s here, it’s dependable, it’s fast, and I can do whatever I want, when I want, with as many devices as I want,” Wilcox said.
Much like the need for access to reliable, affordable power in the 1930s, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative and CVEC Fiber are answering the call again.
